Volunteering at Combe Farm

Over the years we’ve had many volunteers who come to live with us for anything from 3 weeks to 2 years, joining our friendly, hard working team, helping with everything from feeding and mucking out to training the young horses (if they have previous experience) to help with mending fences, herding cattle, painting, land management and so much more.

This is an old fashioned farm set in the most beautiful Devon parkland which is very labour intensive but it keeps animal welfare at its heart. The horses and cows are wonderful and need lots of attention to keep them happy. If you’d like to get away from the hustle of real life and come to live and work in a rural environment that has scarcely changed for hundreds of years then please do get in touch.

If you love animals and would really like to get involved in their care, we’d love to hear from you. If you have farming experience or serious riding ability, then even better (I’m afraid these sensitive horses aren’t for beginners). If you have building skills and would like to make a difference - there’s always something to improve or mend.

We have basic accommodation available in the farmhouse cottage and beds, bedding and all meals are provided in return for help. Please do email or call if you would like to know more....
We’d love to hear from you.
